The boyhood Red made 139 appearances for the club he watched from the stands. Signing from just down the road at Bolton he brought and energy and enthusiasm into the Liverpool team. Playing mainly at right back McAteer scored 6 goals for Liverpool FC however his non-stop work ethic and commitment to the cause made him a fan favorite.
